Working through the specialism of Identity has been a great experience and very insightful. I have been able to expand my weakness of hand made elements with the first workshop, which I found very interesting looking at how the relationship of letters can make an impact on the viewer and how the smallest alterations can make a huge difference in meaning. This reflection will defiantly make me consider layout and positioning a lot more in my future work.
The second workshop I really enjoyed and made use of what I had learnt from the layout of positioning in the first workshop. I was able to research and establish a target market from the brief and develop what I feel is a very strong identity for the magazine that was not only ideal for the target market but also accessible to alterations for the ‘child’ identities.
I would defiantly say that choosing identity was the ideal specialist route for me and has opened my eyes to the importance and effectiveness of the simple aspects of creating an identity for a particular brief and I feel my skills have been developed further.
In relation to my Plan of Action prior to the workshops I believe I have added some strong elements of work to my portfolio through my final outcomes and as said above strengthened a couple of my weaknesses by experimenting with hand drawn elements.
