This helps me to produce professional and neat looking work and it also allows me to manipulate hand drawn images to make them look more clean and refined.
I find it easy to generate ideas for a brief and I often back up these ideas through thorough research, analysis of this research also allows me to establish an idea, develop it and then have the material and background knowledge to explain my chosen design methods. I really enjoy working in groups and find that my ideas flourish through bouncing ideas around with fellow peers and I feel i give good constructive advice and appreciate advice given to me.
My main weaknesses are my hand drawn illustration skills. This is more down to me becoming too reliant on computer-aided design that I often neglect the opportunity of hand drawn illustration. I also have a tendency of not developing designs as much as I possibly could and I feel I need to move out of my comfort zone to try and create unique and fresh ideas.

Graphic Design Identity
I have chosen to specialise in graphic design identity as I feel my strength in computer-aided design will come in useful and be fully utilized in this specialism.
I also have a high interest in corporate branding, marketing and promotion, which is used heavily in the identity of brands and businesses. I find the way brands establish an identity and can create such a huge influence in their market through simple design fascinating and I feel with my design style and research methods on top of my knowledge of business studies I would flourish in this particular specialism. In my spare time I often take part in logo design competitions that are posted online through various online agencies so I have experience in taking a brief set by a company that are looking to create a logo that suits their company image.
I believe that the skills required for graphic design identity include being able to analyse and interpret a brief set. Research the market and gather relevant information to be able to design accordingly. Take constructive criticism and use it to better the outcome. Have skills in a range of design methods that include typography, colour, shape and arrangement.
Career opportunities from specialising in identity can be quite broad, my ideal job would be for new or existing businesses or brands to come to me and want to establish or re-establish themselves in their market through their company image and thus i have the responsibility of designing their logo among other things so that they are easily recognisable and reputable.
Agencies that I have recently looked at include Pearlfisher that re-brand existing brands among some of the key agencies that include Lippincott Mercer, Landor, Pentagram and Agency.
